THE SECRET BEHIND SHINKOLITE’S ENDURING COLOUR
BEAUTY THAT LASTS BEYOND THE FIRST DAY

A beautiful colour can leave an impression at first glance.

But true quality reveals itself over time — when that same colour continues to look as refined and considered as the day it was first chosen.

For SHINKOLITE, colour durability is never left to expectation. It begins with thoughtful material design, carefully selected raw materials, and systematic performance testing — all working together to help maintain the beauty and quality of the material over the years.

Because when colour becomes part of an architectural space, it should be designed not only to look beautiful today, but to remain beautiful for years to come.

DESIGNED TO RESIST
WHERE LASTING COLOUR BEGINS

The durability of colour begins long before a sheet becomes part of an architectural space.

One of the key factors is the quality of the pigments and additives used throughout the manufacturing process.

SHINKOLITE carefully selects high-quality materials from Japan, chosen for their suitability for acrylic sheets and their ability to support long-term resistance to environmental conditions.

It is this attention to the material itself that helps create colour with greater durability — colour designed not simply to look beautiful when first installed, but to maintain its character over time.

Because true material quality begins with what lies beneath the surface.

TESTED FOR THE LONG TERM
BECAUSE DURABILITY SHOULD BE PROVEN, NOT ASSUMED

Long-lasting colour should never be based on expectation alone.

It should be tested.

SHINKOLITE uses QUV TEST, an accelerated weathering test designed to evaluate how materials respond to environmental factors such as UV radiation and moisture under controlled conditions.

The test combines periods of UV exposure with moisture conditions through condensation or water spray, creating accelerated weathering cycles that allow the material’s performance to be studied over an extended period.

For Shinkolite, testing is conducted for more than 2,200 hours, with the test results used as a basis for confidence in long-term outdoor performance equivalent to 10 years of use, according to the specified testing conditions.

During the evaluation, changes in the material can be assessed across key performance aspects, including:

  • COLOUR CHAAGE (ΔE)

  • GLOSS

  • MECHANICAL CONDITION / BRITTLENESS

  • CLARITY OF THE SHEET

This accelerated testing approach allows SHINKOLITE to study how colour and material characteristics respond to prolonged environmental exposure under controlled conditions.

And because Thailand’s climate combines intense sunlight with periods of high humidity and rainfall, understanding how materials respond to both UV exposure and moisture is particularly important for outdoor applications.

For SHINKOLITE, enduring beauty begins with reliable evidence.

Shinkolite acrylic sheet colour consistency

CONSISTENCY YOU CAN TRUST
BEAUTY THAT REMAINS CONSISTENT, LOT AFTER LOT

Durability is only one part of colour quality.

Consistency matters just as much.

In architectural and design applications, colour is often an integral part of the overall visual language. Even subtle variations between production lots can affect the continuity of a finished space.

That is why SHINKOLITE places importance on colour consistency throughout the manufacturing process — from the mixing and dispersion of raw materials to production control and quality inspection.

Each stage is carefully managed to minimize colour variation and maintain consistency across production lots.

Because when a material becomes part of a carefully considered design, consistency is not simply about appearance.

IT IS PART OF QUALITY.

BEAUTY THAT STAYS
DESIGNED WITH BEAUTY IN MIND. DEVELOPED FOR WHAT COMES NEXT.

From carefully selected pigments and additives from Japan, to controlled manufacturing processes and performance testing through QUV TEST, every element plays a role in how SHINKOLITE develops its colour and material quality.

The goal is not simply to create a colour that looks beautiful on the day it is chosen.

It is to create a material that continues to carry that beauty forward.

For SHINKOLITE,

true beauty is not defined only by what we see on the first day, but by the value that remains visible as time goes by.
